Privacy policy

Here you can read about our privacy policy and how we store your personal data.

Personal data protection

RFSU – the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (Org.nr 802002-8133), hereinafter referred to as "RFSU", is the data controller for the processing of personal data on this website and other services related to it. Information on how to contact us can be found under the heading Contact us.

New law, GDPR

The processing of personal data must be based on lawfulness, accuracy and transparency. These can be said to be the basic principles of all personal data processing. The processing must always have specific, explicit and legitimate purposes at the time of collection, and the processing must not deviate from these purposes at a later stage.

The RFSU will make clear through this policy how we process personal data, how long we process your data and why.

What is personal data?

Personal data is defined as information relating to a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to a name and an identification number, or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person. This is a broad definition and examples of personal data are personal identity numbers, names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, IP addresses, individual passwords, account numbers, credit card numbers, employment numbers, membership numbers, voice recordings, photographs, etc.

Security

We are concerned that your personal data is processed securely. To prevent unauthorized use or exposure of your personal data, we use reasonable physical, technical and organizational security measures commensurate with the amount and sensitivity of the personal data.

Legal basis

The RFSU must always have a legal basis when we process your personal data. There are several different grounds we rely on in different situations.

Consent

By continuing to use our services or visiting our websites, or through any other communication channel registering or transmitting your personal data to RFSU, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your data as described herein. If you do not agree to the Privacy Policy, you should not use our services. For images we publish, we require the consent of the person concerned.

Agreement

Some of our services require us to establish a contract between you and the RFSU, for example, ordering goods or certain services. It is then part of the contract that the RFSU processes your personal data in order for the RFSU to fulfil our part of the contract. You cannot then opt out of the processing of your personal data.

Legal support

Records linked to the ordering of certain services, such as material from our material bank, are kept for seven years in accordance with the Bookkeeping Act. Personal data linked to payment is kept for that period and then deleted.

Legitimate interest

In some cases, there is a legitimate interest for RFSU to process personal data to provide information about our activities. This applies, for example, to RFSU's fundraising activities where we send out mailings to potential donors and follow up with past donors within the time frame specified in connection with the processing. It also applies to certain forms of newsletters, where people on the list have previously signed up and where you remain until you unsubscribe.

Different types of treatments

Orders for information material, registration for subscriptions, training courses and conferences, booking of information passes, etc.

Personal data provided in connection with subscriptions to the Ottar magazine (name, address and e-mail) or one of our newsletters (name, e-mail and in some cases service) are only stored for as long as you are a subscriber. When you unsubscribe, we remove your personal data from these records and make users anonymous. See in particular what concerns record keeping under legal basis.

Within three months of the end of participation, the register will be made anonymous.

Personal data (name, address, telephone number and e-mail) provided when ordering information material from our ordering service are kept for 15 months. The RFSU will then delete the register and make the orderer anonymous after 15 months of inactivity. However, the records are kept for seven years as required by law.

The RFSU has a separate clarification of the RFSU's contractual conditions for handling members' personal data.

For all other processing that falls outside of these above, RFSU must clearly demonstrate what personal data we are processing, how long we have the processing, what legal basis we are relying on, what the purpose is. In other respects, the policy also applies to this processing.

RFSU does not sell your personal data to third parties. In some cases, mailings are administered by data processors and we then require these providers not to disclose the personal data to unauthorized third parties.
